Caffeine

As we step into the new year, almost anyone would say they wish they could be healthier. After all, if you improve your health, you will be happier, feel better, and live longer! So, what are a few things that you can do in the new year to improve your health? Dr. Lechner shares a few pointers below.

Tip #1) Lose weight

The USA has one of the highest obesity rates in the world. It is reported that approximately 36% of adults in America are over weight. If this is the case for you, losing some weight can drastically improve your health. The best way to lose weight is to ensure that you are burning more calories every day than you are taking in. When trying to lose weight, don’t get discouraged if the pounds don’t fall off over night. Losing weight takes time, but it is well worth it.

Tip #2) Sleep more

Sleeping 8 hours per night is extremely beneficial for your health. If you manage to get 8 hours per night, you will see an increase in energy, your mood will improve, and you will see an improvement in your overall appearance. Even more important than that, is that a lack of sleep can actually lead to diseases like type 2 diabetes and cause obesity.

Tip #3) Consume less caffeine and sugar

While both of these things can boost your energy after consumption, they offer no real benefits. In fact after consuming sugar, you will experience an eventual “crash.” With caffeine, it is actually possible to overstimulate yourself and suffer from increased anger and aggression.

Dr. Lechner in Delaware, Ohio hopes that these 3 tips will help you lead a healthier life in 2017! Additionally, Dr. Lechner would like to remind you about the importance of visiting your dentist twice per year!
